Hope everyone’s been having a good week. Ours was doing well until Ohana found her a skunk again despite having all the exterior lights on. We call them skunk deterrent lights but the dang thing came up around the garage. The positive is we have the Skunk Remedy down pretty good and keep fresh hydrogen peroxide at all times. Practice makes perfect so I’m told, just wish I didn’t have to practice this skill set. Always look for positives, there’s bound to be one or two. On to our newest members!
We start this week with @ehwelch45 up in Utah. Eric shares he is a “Girl dad and proud of it”! Good for you Eric! I bet you also have a Daddy’s Girl that shadows you everywhere. Eric’s mom unfortunately had a rupture on the night of Father’s Day this year. His dad was with her and got her breathing again, called 911 and she was life flighted to the closest University hospital. When he signed up, she had been intubated for the last 7 days. He is looking for hope and understanding. We hope your mom is doing better, Eric. We wish her and your family the best. Please come talk to us.
@Shinykai Is up in the State of Washington. Kai has had stent and coils for a 30 mm pseudoaneurysm back in July 2023’. It was found in Jan 2023. Her one and two year follow ups have been good and she doesn’t need to go back until 2027! Good for you Kai! Kai also enjoys gardening and sewing when she’s not working.
@darlysaar is in Oregon. Darla has three aneurysms that were found because her doctor ordered and MRA for vertical diplopia. The MRA showed two, she had her angiogram and another was found. Two of the aneurysms on the right side will be stabilized, the one on the left will get on the watch and wait list. The doctor also found a fusiform ecstasy on the left posterior communicating artery. You can read more about her entry into our world here New member, grateful for this community - #8 by Moltroub
Ending the week is @joan2 Joan isn’t in the Western US, she’s over in Singapore! Joan had a ruptured aneurysm and underwent a craniotomy as endovascular wan’t optimal. She is recovering since her discharge on 11 Jun 2025. Her mom had a recent ischemic stroke and she shares there are now two in the family with brain injuries. We hope both of you are doing well Joan. Hopefully your mom was able to get the wonder drug TPA for ischemic strokes. BH had an ischemic stroke and within the short time frame for the TPA shot. I made up a joke. “What do you get when you put a hemorrhagic stroke survivor and an ischemic stroke survivor together?” Common response is “I don’t know, what?” Then I say “I forget”. BH added to it when I told it to our new to us Cardiologist by saying “and so do I”.
