Hello everyone! I hope February is treating everyone well. We have 8 new members to welcome to the community:
@Ricachica13 is in Arizona, United States. Lola had a brain aneurysm rupture 10+ years ago which was coiled, but unfortunately failed; she then had multiple emergency surgeries. She recently has been diagnosed with another brain aneurysm and was told to closely monitor it.
@karito is in Virginia, United States. Karolina recently had a flow diverter stent placed to remove 3 aneurysms near her ocular nerve. Post surgery, she is experiencing dizziness.
@mmm1958 is in Massachusetts, United States. Melanie’s sister was recently diagnosed with a 2 x 3 mm supraclinoid ICA and is scheduled to have a Flow Redirection Endoluminal Device placed this month. Melanie is worried about the surgery’s outcome and if this is the best treatment option for her sister.
@Mich0906 is in Massachusetts, United States. Michele went to the hospital for dizziness and had a CAT scan to test for a stroke. Instead, the doctors found an aneurysm in her neck and months later followed up to schedule for surgery. After doing some research and having doubts, Michele cancelled the surgery due to having discrepancies with the doctor on his report versus how she remembers the appointment actually went.
@Waldy08 is in Wisconsin, United States. Last August, Ellen had a ruptured aneurysm of the anterior communicating artery and subarachnoid hemorrhage. It was treated via clipping and she returned to work full-time in November. Since the surgery, she is doing well but notices difficulty staying on task and short-term memories.
@MAR is in Colorado, United States. In February 2005, a doctor told Martha that she needed a shunt for her aneurysm, while her main doctor disagreed and coiled her carotid artery instead. Afterwards, she moved to 11 different hospitals and in May 2005 a neurosurgeon placed a shunt. When she woke up, she could not stop talking and was told she needed to find a new neurosurgeon.
@Elena is in Manitoba, Canada. Elena incidentally found a 7 mm ICA in last October. She is scheduled to have coiling done this month.
@Allyhgetshealthy is in Texas, United States. Ally lost her lower field of vision for 15 seconds. She found a dime sized aneurysm behind her right eye. She has had two stents and was placed on medication.
