Wow...we could be like the bionic woman!

Hi Everyone--

I found a link to this article last nite on the "brain talk" site (that someone from BAF recommended...sorry, I can't remember who). Anyway, here's a link to the article...

http://www.publicaffairs.ubc.ca/2011/11/04/ubc-researchers-devise-new-technology-to-monitor-brain-aneurysms/

I thought it was pretty cool. Wouldn't it be nice if we didn't have to do post op angios...

Lisa,

Thanks for bringing up this article; so helpful for all the new members, and some old members. .

We had initial info on this; and it is a great reminder.... re: expressing high radiation CT and angios...and termed invasive... paricularly because the coils are marketed as minimally invasive...and, they cannot, well, should not, be implanted w/o the invasive use of angiograms...needed to visualize the proper location before detachment of a device...Then, all of the follow-ups...

It will be magnificent if that is approved here...have no memory of seeing any US media coverage on this yet.

Lisa, again, thank you for providing this here...

Yes...and yes...I hate the thoughts of the post ops...

Thanks for sharing this article...~ Have a good day ~ Colleen
