Unwilling foot

My wife will celebrate the fifth anniversary of her 6mm ruptured aneurysm this coming December. She had her last checkup (angiogram) at 3.5 years and needs no other checkups except for an MRI in another year or so. But lately she has had a new symptom. At home this is not usually a problem, but other places, for example, at church when she wants to start walking, her left foot just stays planted. She kind of needs to talk to it and eventually gets going--then she can walk ok. Or if someone holds her hand she can get going. Otherwise she is involved pretty much in everything she used to do. I'm just wondering whether anyone else has had experiences like that and what, if anything, you do for it. She also has difficulty turning quickly or looking to the side and walking straight ahead.

I am just 4 yrs out from a ruptured aneurysm and have something like this but not the same thing but, sometimes have some difficulties when starting to walk but most of the time it is when i’m walking, my right leg seems to want to do a double step or stutter step, that stutter step can be right when i start to walk, usually after sitting down for awhile. Had some of the same issues of turning quickly and looking to the side while walking. Physical theraphy did wonders for me and balancing exercises, but still can’t get rid of the stutter step, part of the new me I guess. Therapist said “can’t fix everything” but it did help me walk better. sometimes have to just stand up and take an extra second to start. would suggest asking her care provider about physical therapy possibly for the turning quickly and looking to the side while walking. The brain is a strange thing repair if at all. Glad to hear all else is well.
