Thank you for this!
Thank you for sharing. I do believe that being rid of it is the only option for me now. Iām so glad they got to yours before the vein started to rupture. I bet you were relieved!
This is great! Thank you!!!
You bet. I was very relieved! Thank goodness I took my neurosurgeonās advice to have it clipped. I wish you a quick recovery.
Hi Ahahovan,
I belong to Aneurysm (TAAF) support group in the Bay Area where we meet every 1st Thu of the month. Many of the Neurologists and Neuro-Surgeons from UCSF are advisory board members of TAAF. Please feel free to DM via this site and I can introduce you to our group. We have many guest speakers (UCSF Neuro-Surgeons and Neurologists) who give lectures to our group. The group can be helpful in sharing their experiences from UCSF Neuro-Surgery and Neurology. Good Luck.
The Brain Aneurysm Support Group is not meeting because of Covid. Can anyone tell me where the Zoom or other online meetings are? thank you.
Keep a eye out on the main page May2020, the BAF folks often post virtual meetings in different areas that are open to everyone. You may also want to reach out to the folks who run your group, they may be doing some type of virtual meetings as Zoom is just one of many.
I had SAH in 2005. 7 more aneurysms were found in the process of fixing that one. I have had 7 aneurysms clipped and one coiled. Yes, give yourself lots of time for healing. Expect some headaches and a lot of need to sleep for a while.
I had surgery last year. I felt and feel normal (as far as personality is concerned). Healing was slower than I imagined. I thought 6 weeks bone is healed, done. While after 6 weeks I started to drive again and do things for myself, it was really a few months before I felt strong. I had some residual fluid in the face and eye issues. Itās true what a few people posted here, you will look like you were punched in the face. That takes a long while to heal. I would load up on Vitamin C and B complex. Get in all those fruits and veggies and antioxidants. Before and after!
Best wishes.
Count down in three days! May God be with your procedure and empower your surgeonās team to do a fabulous surgery on you!
Praying for your surgery, recovery, and peace of mind. We love you! We are your extended family who will pray for you. Most of us have been through the most difficult decisions ourselves. Go, go, go! You can do it, too!
Come back to us and share with us anything you want to say. Promise!
Hi Kitty,
Mind if I ask how many craniotomies you have been through? Iād be freaked out if I have 8 (1+7) aneurysms!
Same here, I like to find out if there is any Zoom meeting in the future? Thanks!
Hi! I donāt mind at all! I had a craniotomy to repair the one that ruptured. About 10 days later I had another craniotomy to clip 3 more on the same side. I was still in neuro ICU. Then I had a 3rd craniotomy 5 months later to repair 3 on the other side. It was pretty stressful, but it was an āisā with not many options. My motto: Keep Moving Forward.
Youāve topped all my imaginations of a personās skull with that many craniotomies. I could guess that your āsurgeriesā are made into training textbook materials by now.
Let me salute you with 10000000 hands up! You must be very very strong and brave in souls!!! Amazing!
I will share your story with my sister, and she has a 4 mm aneurysm behind her right eye. Iāve only had one unruptured behind my left eye, 8mm. So I clipped it almost 3 years ago.
Thank you for your sharing. I love your motto: Keep moving forward!
Sending that energy even eariler @3 in the morning. Couldnāt sleep. Thinking of you.
Hope you are well soon.
Blue skies,
Glenda D
Thank you that is so kind and thoughtful! Itās done. It hurts a ton as I know you know. Iām really swollen and my head is snap, crackling and popping. Sleeping is hard. Was in ICU a day and a half then recovery another day then released. Now Iām home and Iām trying to take it easy but also be a little active. Iām thankful to know that the aneurysm is gone.
So glad to hear your surgery went well. First two weeks take it easy & rest!
Even though you may not feel doing it, please take some pictures of the head. I use it to scare myself.
It will get better tomorrow! I promise! Good job done!
@May202o @bibewelove. Have yāall been able to connect with some of the online support groups? I understand thereās some on FB as well.
I do not know it. I will search it up. Thank you for reminding me.
