Sinus infection Post Op?

I’ve developed the worst sinus infection ever… I had my operation a week ago, last couple of days I’ve have a runny nose, today it’s turned into yellow/light green mucus, stuffy as can be and it’s giving me a brutal headache and face pain. My sinuses on my cheeks are screaming.

I’m currently on baby aspirin for 1 month (WEB device) taking Tylenol when needed for headaches, but it’s not helping much with this sinus infection. Anyone get one post op? It being the weekend, I’d have to go to the ER to get looked at and potentially antibiotics. Has anyone specifically heard antibiotics are a no no with baby aspirin or post op? I was also thinking of a netipot to rinse my sinuses? The hey said try not to blow your nose (I’ve been gentle) so I’m not sure the netipot is safe or not?

A neti pot is safe, it drains all the mucus out, I believe. As with everything check with your surgeon. My allergist suggested one decades ago when they weren’t popular here in NC. She said if I couldn’t find one, to use a turkey baster, just not the one from the kitchen😂. But if you feel you have a sinus infection can you go to an urgent care rather than the ER? A neti pot won’t stop a sinus infection that I’m aware of, but it does help the symptoms. If you decide to use one, be mindful that you clean it well every time you use it and sterilize it at least once a week. The PA at my allergist warned of an amoeba that one can get from tap water, it’s very deadly. The FDA sys use distilled or sterile water. Here’s an article Neti pots: Uses, dangers, and warnings. Here’s a good one one how to clean it. Neti Pots for Sinus Infections: Do They Help?

I have never heard of antibiotics and baby aspirin being a no no. There are many people that take 81 mg for life and still need antibiotics sometimes. I am no doctor.
