I am terrified, but nonetheless I have scheduled my endovascular coiling for later this month. My aneurysm is somewhat smaller than previously thought at 7.3mm as opposed to 8mm, but because the opening is 4mm I will need a stent to keep the coils in place, along with the Plavix and aspirin regimen.
Keep us posted Campanile. I know this has seemed like a long time. I’ll keep you in my thoughts.
Good luck. My annie was almost exactly the same size as yours with the same wide neck opening. I actually felt a sense of relief when I finally scheduled the surgery. The big decision after all the research was done, and now I had time to get my house in order and spend some quality time with my family before "the big day". The anxiety of living with it and not knowing exactly what to do about it was much more anxiety provoking for me. Just keep faith that you will be fine. Let us all know how it goes.
best of luck for sure you will be in my thoughts.I to am having a coiling with stent procedure done feb10th you are not alone and we all understand your thoughts and feelings as well, positive thoughts only
Good luck to you too Ruby!
thanks

Good luck. I also had coiling with stent for my wide necked aneurysm and I was back home after only 1 night in hospital. I pray you will be fine also.
Like Ttiger, I also had a cooling with stent for my three aneurysms. I stayed in the hospital overnight and have been doing well since. I stopped my Plavix a month after my surgery, but must take aspirin for the rest of my life. Prayers to you and your family. You are a survivor and will do well. Stay strong.
Correction: coiling.
Good luck to you Campanile and Ruby on your coiling procedures coming up soon. I will keep you in thought and prayer.
I had a aneurysm rupture and had to have emergency surgery to have it coiled. I experienced alot of head pain for up to a year 30 days because
of the bleed. I went back 30 days later and had 2 others coiled . I went home the next day. 2 years later I am fine.
I am coming up on one year of my emergency coiling. It took about 2 months to come back. I had balance issues. But with therapy I was able to work through them. And within 3 months of my coiling I participated in a 100 mile bicycle ride from Portland to Pacific City. Good luck and be strong!
Good luck and you can doo it! :-)
Stay strong, it has been nearly 4 months since my operation and im back to work. Headaches still occur though.
You will do great and be positive. It has been 10 months since my stint and coiling. I am doing well. Best of luck!
I just had my surgery and go back March 2nd for my three months appointment with my Dr. I had to have coil, stint and plavix and aspirin regiment I am still on. My aneurysm was Basilar Tip aneurysm 6mm x 7mm x 8mm in size. You can get through this it is not that bad, just do what they tell you and take care of yourself. I had to stay in the hospital for four days but usually you go home the day after. I just had alot of swelling on my brain from inflammation . Good luck and God bless.
I am having my 4mm anuerysm coiled too on Feb. 11th. Very scared, but ready to get it behind me. Just started the aspirin and plavix today.
Had a coili g done on Jan 12th and it was a walk in the park. In and out n tow days. Last year I had a ruptured aneurysm and was in for 11 days. I still suffer headaches from the rupture, so it made having surgery on the unruptured one a piece of cake! Getting it taken care of before it ruptures is way better and probably life saving. I can’t stress enough how simple the process was for me the second time around. God bless our healthcare workers ️
Good luck, you’re going to be just fine and so happy when it’s over!
Lisa
Ps, tip: Popsicles help with the headaches!
