Facing a new procedure in March after my clipping 20 years ago… They found another aneurysm in the same spot so going with the SEAL IT (in clinical trials). Also going I’m actually missing a few vessels and will have to be monitor every 6 months to a year here on out. Grateful for my husband and family. They are very scared of the what ifs.
Hi @MBSch -
First of all, may I comment on what a strong, beautiful and fierce warrior you are?!?! Being somewhat new to the aneurysm game (<2 years), I know that I stand on the shoulders of giants, and it is because of your collective resiliency and determination that I am here, (20 years!), so, from the bottom of my heart, thank you for being you!!
I will be sure to add you to my list, and send along peace, calm, and healing wishes. Please do NOT feel a need to answer if you do not wish, but may I ask when your surgery is in March? I always like to offer up an extra special prayer on the actual day, but I completely respect if you prefer to kerp that private!
As a patient too, I can empathize with you as you also work to help with your family’s emotions - especially having been through this before, it is no wonder why they are concerned! (Sometimes I feel like this is the most challening thing we do when we have to tell people, we need another CTA, etc.! )
You may know that I have become a fan of breathing exercises, as my wearables suggest that they calm me down! My personal favorite is box breathing, and I understand that Navy SEALS use it, so if it works for them it works for me!
It is called box breathing as there are 4 sides just like a box: 1. Breath in for 5 seconds. 2. Hold for a count of 5 seconds. 3. Exhale for 5 seconds. 4. Hold for 5 seconds. Repeat as necessary!
I will be holding you close. Please continue to voice your thoughts and concerns, and let us know how you are doing when YOU get a chance!

Thank you so much for the encouragement and prayers… I have another aneurysm in my anterior communicating artery area again beside my clip, they are going to use the SEAL IT stent to hopefully strength the vessel walls and help with flow. I’m missing a segment of my right communicating arteries. Due to my aneurysm size and because it’s my previous rupture they want to try less invasive first. There’s is another person on her who just had the same device put in. Praying for her healing also too please.
So crazy to have people to talk to, last time there wasn’t a lot around for resources or support.
I’m really glad you saw there is another with the Seal It device, good for you! I like breathing as well, maybe your family will practice with you. Prayers for you and your family. Stay strong!
I’m 11 years post rupture. I don’t know what SEAL IT is but if it works then I wish you all the best! Let us know when you feel up to it.
