Hello All
I would love to share my story and request assistance for medical statement in regard pinched neck nerf and raptured brain aneurysm
I suffered ruptured brain aneurysm on 0/19/2020 after suffering from pinched neck nerf
I have seen online that any neck injury could lead to brain injury or damage
I would love to obtain medical statement in this regards
Please advise
Hey Hany,
I have found that some neuros often make such statements, but to then have them write that out in black and white they are a little reluctant. They like to be able to have images and scans to be able to back up the statements. When it comes to neurology, for every dr who is firm in their diagnosis, you can find another who has a differing opinion. But to find a neuro who would be willing to draw a straight line between cause and effect, that would be rare in my humble opinion.
I have gone seeking 2nd opinions from neurologists and neurosurgeons before with lots of ‘it could be’ or ‘It might be’ type statements, but nothing concrete. Lets face it, the brain controls everything, so I thought the ‘could be’ was pretty damn obvious, but to actually have that documented… No Way. They have written out what the scans show now, but nothing more.
Now, that’s my experience. In my city I’m limited on the neuros I can consult for an independent opinion and many will refer back to the initial surgeon’s opinion, so not truly independent. It’s such a small community, they all know each other. I had a professor of neurosurgery from interstate as part of an insurance claim make an assessment, which was about as independant as I got. His report was very factual and supportive, but again no cause/effect identified, just the outcome.
I do wish you the best of luck if you try to obtain such a statement, but I doubt you’ll find one myself.

Good morning Hany! I’ve had several pinched nerves over the years since ‘75 (bad accident) in fact dealing with one in my neck now. It’s never been suggested to me that my spinal issues were the cause of my aneurysm and subsequent rupture. I had lumbar repair the year prior to rupture to keep walking due from the same accident. If you can remember where you read it and post it here, we can help you research it.
Mostly I’ve read about concussions as a possible theory as well as familial history. There’s several others out there and of course the usual suspects such as stress, HBP, smoking, drugs, obesity, etc. I’m not a doctor but I always think the medical community just adds the usual suspects to every health issue. When I ruptured, my Neurosurgeon said they really didn’t know what caused them. Last I heard, she was doing some research with other universities looking at possible genetic links.
Hope you find some relief for your pinched nerve. If you can, see if your doctor will write an order for PT. Mine was able to give me 3 stretching exercises to help me get my range of motion back. Unfortunately and for some unknown reason we’re waiting on insurance so she can get approval for the 8 weeks she would like to do.
