Pain behind my eye

I would definitely have another check because sometimes Annie's can be too small to diagnose but then grow larger and cause symptoms. Better safe than sorry?

For sure have it checked out, just so you know. And also- if two different docs are telling you different things, one saying you have another aneurysm, one saying you don’t, you MUST get a third opinion. I learned the hard way that we have to advocate for ourselves. Go to the very best neuro you can for the second opinion. Not sure where you live but the best ranked for neuro are: Hopkins, Mayo, NY Presbyterian, Mass General, Cleveland Clinic, UCLA and NYU Langone. Dr. Howard Riina at NYU saved me after a Yale surgeon botched it. Best of luck

Since you have had annies in the past, you need to get it checked out.

I do have pain in my eyes since my PED, which was June 2012. The pain comes and goes for a few seconds. We do have a much greater chance that it is just that, unexplained sharp and dull pains, memory lapses and very very much anxiety with the pain and doctors just shrugging their shoulders. I am sure its nothing. Please keep us posted. Hugs, Denise

Hi, I have had a tightness behind my right since my 1st surgery. 1 of my four aneurysms I was told was on a optical nerve. I have haed severe headaches since my surgery. My neurologist has tried me on many meds. I also suffered a stroke 5 weeks post-op, lost my entire left side. Most is back but I have tremors all the time. Get yourself checked out. They always don't educate patients on what to expect after. My prayers are with you.

Good Luck Therese

Hi VJ I have experienced pain in my left eye and this was the reason for my trip to the doctors to get a CT scan done initially and this scan identified an Annie on my left hand side. Its only happened to me once and I am yet to have any surgery. I would get it investigated, pain of any sort isnt normal. Hope everything goes well for you Chick

I get excruciating pains when it rains..and my craniotomy site (on my forehead) has been slowly turning into a Florida sinkhole...11 years since my surgery, I walk and talk and earned a MS degree in Special Ed along the way..but...I wish I could prop up the cave in.....have to see the doc..

Hi Joy,
I too have several sinkholes due to removal and replacement of skull. I was told they look worse with humidity and hot weather and that they cannot do anything about them. One is highly visible and others are under hair. Please let me know if you find a solution. Many thanks!!! Penny

I had a ruptured brain aneurism Nov. 1, 2013, it was coiled, I spent two weeks in the hospital most of those days in ICU. I am thankful to have survived and I have a great team of doctors at Stony Brook University Medical Center. A few weeks ago I had an angiogram and MRI,s which discovered another aneurism. I then went in to have a flow diversion pipeline stent put in. I am doing well but have been experiencing headaches and pain in my right eye. Doctors say it will subside with time. This is serious business and I do know how lucky I am to have come out of this with relatively little damage. I would check with your doctors to see what may be going on. Check ups are very important. Good Luck!

My son had a grade 5 subrachnoid bleed and stroke. Spent 5 months in the icu. He get them every once in a while. Just happens but get it checked out.

Penny, Im thinking of talking to a surgeon to straighten it out..it is making my face a little crooked..I'll keep you posted.!!

My forehead has a large indent, which is getting worse. It goes from my hairline almost to my eyebrow and they told me it will get worse. Please keep me posted!!! Thank you Joy!!!

Are the white spots like shooting lightning? I saw explosive ā€˜lightning’ during my procedures and a few will shoot across my vision now and then. I have floaters…drive me crazy…get worse with time. They don’t float. There are different ones in each eye so together it’s like having my hair fall over my eyes all the time… It’s worse with light background…like the sky, a very light room. Therefore, I wouldn’t say mine are white, but gray. Like the tinnitus, I’ve gotten used to it. …or are the white spots like after you’ve looked away from a bright light? My eyes don’t come back from that as quickly anymore. Have you have your field of vision map done? It’s like drawing a map of just what you see, or don’t…spots.

Funny you should mention the shooting lightning. sometimes if I wake up in the middle of the night in my dark bedroom it happens for a split second.....the white spots are like someone put White-Out in my line of vision. Dots. But they've either gotten lighter or I've incorporated them into my vision and look around them. When I look into the microscope I don't see them, so I think they're fading. I have difficulty writing on a sheet of paper. Hard to see. But not on the computer. I've never had a map done. What good would it do?

Can you get glasses with a prism to get the eyes together? I have one and it helps. But not perfect. Also had awful time with kindle reading. It helps to put on smaller font with soft background. I may just go back to good old books…just hope I don’t have to rely on audio books too soon.

Susan,

For a long time I could only read the Kindle. Had to make the font bigger. Now I can read books, but not paperbacks. My eyes get really tired with really small print, although I can read it. I really need to go to the eye doctor and get my eyes examined. I probably need a new prescription. Before the annie I had great vision with cataract surgery, one lens near and one lens far. I have had a bit of a problem going to any dr. after the surgery. Just don't want to see any more docs.

Hello, I'm seldom am one to particapate in topic discussions and make a reply. I attempt to read them all though..lol. However, I suffered an aneurysm just behind my right eye, subarachnoid artery I think it was (11/2003), and had a horrible heart beat headache and was extremely light and sound sensitive. It was clipped and I'm grateful to be here. My vision goes blurry with even use of the glasses I was prescribed after just a few hours most days if I'm focusing on say the monitor, T.V. and especially if I attempt to read for more then 20 or 30 minutes. I also experience neouropothy in my feet which also can't be explained. I'm not diabetic but have instabilty in both knees and a hip not related to the aneurysm. However, the vision problems and neuropothy of my feet never happened until after the clipping. As mentioned in many of the replies the medical community has no answer for some of these incidents or on-going imcumbursances (< for a better word ?) that seem to effect us survivors. You need to seek medical attention as soon as you can. I lay all weekend with the same pain as well as the heart beat headache that developed and sensitivity I mentioned. I see a tremndous reply to your post and hope that from all the replies you develop an immediate and long term plan. God's Abundant Blessings with it all ! John

just a reply to JOHN. Odd, I have worsening neuropathic pain in my legs and feet and hands since my PED.(no sugar issues either)

Had a persistent pain behind my eye and sensitivity to light until the headaches were excruciating. Visited Dr. Michael Lawton at UCSF who performed of 3000 of these operations to remove these aneurisms and 8 months later have virtually no side affects. I could have been gone in minutes but he saved my life…

Hi I think you might find the book Mass Eye and Eye Boston directed me to. It is ā€œHeal The Headache 1234ā€. You will find many of your problems will disappear once on the diet they recommend. I suffered with all kinds of weird things and like you reading was an issue and I also had retina problems . Learning to adjust, listen to our body and sticking to a wellness plan helps the stress level go down. With me many of my problems are from overstimulation, lights, noise etc. it is amazing the amount of body energy I can control at this point. Yoga (just a few moves) daily and mediation with breathing also helps along with hydrating your body continually. These things really helped me of course everyone is different but fear just heightens the problems for me. Good luck and keep in touch
