New aneurysm on right basal ganglia

This is the first one I’ve had so deep within my brain and I’m going to admit that I’m a bit freaked out. Has anyone dealt with one in this area? What should I expect?

Dang Marxy! We’ve had some members with aneurysms in the area. I’m not one of them, mine was at the LICA bifurcation up by the ACA. I know you posted this a bit ago but I do hope someone with more knowledge will come chat with you. Remember to keep hydrated. I know I sound like a broken record. Oh and check around the topics, there’s been some great information on relaxation apps and a link to a great YouTube video recently. I watched it but can’t remember the woman’s name, Dr Jill somebody I think. A brand new member suggested Headspace just today!

Thank you so much for your reply. I had a stent placed last week and the surgery went well. I’m home now recovering. Trying to remember to give myself time to heal.

Thanks for the update! So I’ll do the harping - hydrate, eat protein, rest and repeat. Really I’m doing the happy dance everything went well!

I’m glad to hear you’re home after a successful surgery! From what I’ve read, recovery can feel slow at times, but you’re doing the right thing by reminding yourself to rest. Along with staying hydrated and getting good nutrition, you might find it helpful to keep a short journal about how you’re feeling each day. It could be helpful to look back and see the progress you’ve made over time, even on days that feel rougher than others. Wishing you a smooth and speedy recovery!

3 months post full metal jacket stenting and I feel like I’m struggling now more than I was right after surgery. Back to work 5 days a week and by Friday I’m just exhausted so I’m thinking about reducing down to 4 days a week. The vertigo and dizziness have not improved at all and its beginning to wear on me. Depression of course seems to be my friend these days. Does anyone else feel like they were doing well and then stepped backwards? Maybe its the blood thinners? I’m trying to focus on just making it through each day until my follow up angiogram in February.

I always did a free fall after any angiogram except for my stent. It could take me several months to recover from them. Are you hydrating enough? Proper protein intake? Resting when able?

Reach out to your surgeon and let them know what’s going on. You could also check the side effects of your medication whilst waiting for them to answer. I always think it’s best to let our surgeons know things, even if they say “it’s not related” at least they know. They might even recommend a different specialist.

I found this article, don’t know if it will help, maybe https://www.ama-assn.org/public-health/prevention-wellness/what-doctors-wish-patients-knew-about-vertigo
