I’m sharing this ‘cause it really is relatable. If you look up her name on here, you will find several post references about the “Stroke of Insight” TED Talk, which is where I learned of her and ended up finally purchasing one of her books, Whole Brain Living (which I’m only part through). I listen to Diary of a CEO podcast from time to time and to my pleasant surprise today, I saw her as a guest! I was so excited to listen to the interview, then realized they were referencing a real human brain that she brought with her, so I very quickly switched to YouTube. It’s an hour and a half or so, but so very worth your time watching. Her passion and excitement for life after rupture and gratitude for everything that has happened really changes one’s perspective - it made me happy to watch.
I really like her passion for brains. I’ll have to sit down and watch it! Thanks for sharing!
Karla, I moved this wonderful topic to the General tab as the BAF uses theirs for their news…
Thanks for moving it – I was originally trying to post it here, but clearly clicked something wrong. ![]()
It’s what I’m here for, I don’t know how I missed it when you posted it:zany_face:![]()
Wow @Karla!!!
Soooooooo good! I finally had a moment - well moments - to sit down and watch. I had watched another video of her and knew generally about Whole Brain Living, as well as having seen her “Stroke of Insight” TED Talk, but this was just all that much more.
I am sure part of it was because she caught my attention initially speaking about both meningitis and the arachnoid with the brain; having had meningitis and an SAH that caught my attention as well as seeing the physical brain to better understand was tremendously insightful, and brought further understanding. ![]()
Of course, her zest for life brought tears to my eyes (literally) as I remembered those feelings during recovery. The instant depth of awe and gratitude has admittedly faded, but I am fortunate that it is only just under the surface. She made reminded that in my worst of times, it was also my best of times. Thank you for sharing. And reminding me that Whole Brain Living needs to be on the Christmas List.
