Absolutely will add you and Ms.Irene to my prayers. I’ll ask some other folks as well. Make sure you play your Mom’s favorite music, I recall we had a topic of how it helps a lot. Also recall a member whose Dad was having it hard coming out of a coma and the music he liked was credited as helping him a lot.
Thank you both so much, it means a lot for the light to get stronger for my mom🙏
I played more music today for her and she had a smile on and was having more movement with her thumbs up and wiggling her arms and feet.
There was one time I played motley crue Dr feel good and thought she was about to wake up. She lifted her head off the pillow for the first time ever, and her whole body was moving like she was trying to sit up.
I don’t play music nearly as much as I should! Thank you for that recommendation.
That’s pretty cool that you’re playing Motley Crue for your Mom and also that she reacted to it. I really do pray that she wakes up and sits up for you. That would be amazing! What you’re going through is difficult, but you’ve got people here that have your back, 100%. We’re all here to support one another.
I have been smiling all day thinking about you playing Motley Crue’s Dr. Feelgood to your mom. (Well, and singing it myself… ) That’s fantastic! I am so happy to hear that she has been responding - what a wonderful gift music is, not even to mention her response to it!
I will continue to keep you all in my thoughts and prayers!
My mom has been my biggest supporter both emotionally and physically so i can really relate to your bond with your mother. My heart goes out to you and you mom. I’m sending both of you my prayers. God is good so remember to think positive and have faith.
Thank you all! I had a dream she stood up out of bed, keeping the faith!!!
My mom is a big rock and roller lol, (born in the 60s). She always said music isn’t what it used to be, and I can agree because we listened to the same stuff.
However I can support you all as well, I really appreciate your thoughts prayers and recommendations.
I think we’re onto something with Dr. Feelgood. The saying that laughter is the best medicine. We all just need to feel good, and expect the best! No matter how dark things seem, may the light always shine on you all and in your hearts
I went to a video store today to get home videos converted that my mom used to film back in the 90s and early 2000s. Mostly footage of holidays, birthdays and when we were kids playing in the snow and such. The guy there heard our story and was really touched, and is also part of a prayer group at a church and said he’d be praying tonight for my mom. It’s amazing the people God aligns with us everyday.
I really believe in the power of prayer, I had folks from coast to coast praying for me when I ruptured. My doc calls me her miracle of miracles. I totally agree with your mom, music isn’t the same. I was born in 1960, so sounds like your mom and I are close in age. I went from the Partridge family https://youtu.be/bb4FMn-IWEY?si=H2qpmls292zrtxU0 in 6th grade to the Beatles, Van Morrison, Streisand, Neil Diamond, some country just so my eldest brother would quit teasing me about my taste in music. When I moved away to college, music taste changed. First concert was New Riders of the Purple Sage which was opened by Lynard Skynard . It seemed music told more of a story back then, but perhaps I’m just not keeping up with the times.
Mom and I danced while cleaning house to both our music choices. She was born in ‘32. I still listen to both styles when I clean house.
Cousins have added Ms. Irene and your family to their prayers so your getting them from FL to CA.
My mom was born in 1960 too, and my grandmother (Mom’s mom) in 1933. It sounds like you both grew up on the same music! I know in middle school/highschool my mom loved led Zeppelin and had all their albums.
The thought about the power of prayer came to me when this all first happened. I believe in miracles and I am grateful you are also a miracle to be here today talking with me🙏
Thank you so much (can’t say it enough) that you are praying and involving others as well in prayer for my mom. They say the best places to be in the world are in someone’s thoughts, someone’s prayers and in someone’s heart.
