I got to Norway last month and saw the old man. He was better in his health and capabilities than I was expecting, which was good and his wife (who is terminally ill) asked her doctors “So, I’ve got lots of Easter decorations out…” (Easter is as big a thing in Norway as Christmas) “Shall I put them away in their boxes or won’t I be needing them next year?” Her doctor indicated that she would do well to put them back in their boxes as she should make it to Easter next year, which again was surprising good news for us all.
I’m going over again in a month because it is his birthday. I’ve not been at his house for his birthday for over 30 years, so that will be good. I had planned to go for his 80th but coronavirus got in the way.
