Hello Jim. I am a 41yr. old mother of 3. 16,10 and3/1yr old. I just had a brain aneurysm in January. I do not remember much about the whole thing. But my husband does as he went through the whole thing… My aneurysm blust and I was a very lucky lady they say… It happened at home, my husband and I had just went to bed, he said one minute I was up the next I clasped. He called 911 right away. I was rushed to the hospital were I was on life support to help me breath until they figured out what was wrong with me. They did the clip as they couldn’t do the coiling. I am moody at times, exhausted too at the end of the day and frusterated for things that I can not do.
I had coiling done November of 2009. On occasion I have experienced what you have described. I attribute mine to my back being out of place. I sleep strangely and used to visit a chiro often. It has been a while since I have been. I think that we, survivors, are much more aware and even fearful of pains and “strange” feelings than we used to be. It has also been very recent for your surgery, there is so much healing that is still going on. By all means, if they keep happening, call your doctor or visit the local emergency room. I hope all is well. Carpe Diem
Thanks Mark for the reply, knowing that I am not the only one that has had these is good to know.

Well, as I said I have memory loss…Not only did I not recognize Heather, I had responded to her previously…
Hi Heather,
I have headaches that are almost unbearable. Their is edivence that you can indeed have both migraines and an aneurysm. I know people that have migraines after their surgery for a aneurysm but mine are different. I do not have sensitivity to Light or sound. I don’t have the Aura. I was told to be aware of headaches and if they get bad enough to make you sick to your stomach, get them checked out as soon as possible. Do you have anything else with these shooting pains?
Be Well
Ken
Ken; I don’t have anything else with the shooting pains, just the pains. I was getting them all over. But now they seem to disappear.

Hi,
My aneurysm was coiled a few weeks ago - if too much is going around around me, i.e. tv blarring and people talking, i’ll get a shooting pain from about the middle of my head to the top of my head…in the same general area as my aneurysm. If I don’t “turn the noise down” it will turn into headache ~ but if I focus on getting away from the presumed distrubance, it goes away. The shooting pain is almost like a warning sign…it is weird! My sister can identify when it is happening, because I impulsively grab that part of my head. It like a lightening bolt.
i was exactly like that after coming home…very sensitive to sound and light…me and my husband went to a restaurant to eat and i had to leave because the sound was elevated in my head times 1000…lol…it goes away …it took me a couple of weeks…but it does get better, recovery is on the way…good luck to ya and God bless
