Disgusted!

Hi Arleen,

They say that time is what we all need...I am so sorry that your going through all this and I hope that you do not end up having a 4th surgery..My thoughts and prayers are with you hon...We are going to be fine it's just going to take a little longer and we need to continue with the positive thinking..

Keep me up dated on your progress...

(((HUGS)))

Oh Joan!!

Your comment brought tears to my eyes...Thank you for the kind words :-)

My complaining is over with now! I let myself have that one day to just get something off my chest in a place where I knew that someone would understand.. I am still drained & having a hard time getting to sleep but at the same time I know it's only for a few more weeks then I will be me again...

Thank you again Joan!!!!

((((HUGS))))

Carole,

Your chocolate cure sounds wonderful to me :0)

I LOVE chocolate!!! No they have not brought a pain specialist in. Personally I think that there is already too many specialists involved. The hope is that all gets better after the next surgery.

((((hugs)))

Hey Kim!

I alway seem to feel that it's just weird to be writting to someone else who has the same name...LOL

I do think that my energy will come back, it's just going to take time. Been a long 15 months. I try to keep my energy up by doing things that I can. I have just spent the last two weeks cleaning out our attics! If I have not used it in the last 9 years or its not something that has meaning then I am tossing it!

It's amazing what kind of junk one saves...LOL

((((hugs))))

Heather I felt the hug!!! Thanks hon!!

(((hugs)))

My dear Colleen!!!

You can tell your husband for me and this will also be a little relief for you that I am doing ok!!!

I had a bad day :-(

The next day I woke up and said ok enough is enough and started spring cleaning a little early..LOL... Music loud on both floors of the house!!!! I talked with my neuro the end of last week who just said that I need to hang on a bit longer then they will with faith and hope fix this problem. He can't say that it's going to be any better before surgery...My husky was talking to me at the same time as I was on the phone with the neuro..LOL..I thought about telling him that someone wanted to talk with him but thought ummm ok that might be going too far..LOL

Your alway there for me, hubby too!!!...Don't worry Colleen, I am going to be almost perfect again soon...((((((((HUGS)))))))))

Hey Wendy,

I am haning on the the sense of humor, without life would be too boring..I put two signs on my door, one says "come in" (the day is already a disaster), the other says "wecome" (everyone expect my mother-in-law)..LOL..She didn't appreciate it and she was with me when I got it...LOL

(((hugs))))

(((((((HUGS)))))))) Laurie!!

Thanks hon!!!

Jaycie!

I am doing ok! I have been playing with my tools latley while spring cleaning early..LOL

I tried to use my new lazer level to hang a memo board and this could happen to only me, the memo board was not straigt...LOL...I ended up with more holes then I expected to have..LOL

((((((HUGS))))))

xoxoxoxoxoxox

Feeling better Jeanne :0)

Umm Sherri I always thought it was supposed to be 3rd time is the charm...LOL

No I am not taking anything..Just pain meds only when I need them...My doctor thinks that my issue with being drained and not being able to fall asleep is just due to the fact that I am going to do something that I don't want to do. Having to do surgery again is not thrilling me at all but I know in order to fix this problem it's something that has to be done...

Thank you for the prayers and thoughts!!

(((hugs)))

Oh and guess what I am doing..hehe

while cleaning out the attic I came across a latch hook rug kit that I started about 30 years ago :0) I decided maybe it's time to finish it! I have one problem :-( 30 years ago I liked it and today I don't so its going to end up being a gift for some poor soul..LOL

(it's something that is big enough for me to be able to see even if I have one eye shut)..I just look a bit odd..lol

Thank you everyone!!!

Your thoughts, prayers, comments, hugs and most of all understanding helps more then you know!!

I am doing better as far as the attitude goes, the face is the same but I know with a little more time I am going to be able to look in the mirror and see me again..I can feel it in my heart!!

Now on to more serious things...I have been cleaning out the attics and came across a latch hook rug kit that I started 30 years ago...30 years ago I liked the pattern, today I don't...Any takers?

My love to you all!!!

My thoughts are with you Kimberly MJ

Kimberley; have thought much about you... then side-tracked so readily.

Have you done yoga? yoga deep-breathing? Pray that you do, or will experiment with it.

I smiled...thanks for "latch-hook"; it took me years to learn/re-learn so much (from phone to a book, etc) Have many antique pillows; years for me to say "needlepoint" ;they are family 100++ years old...I recently saw a latchhook in a drawer; could not see it or say it... this is so incidental; and, yet it relates so much to all the other terms / words...memory from larning to long-term.

Kimberley, for all you have gone through, your cognition/speech has been remarkably excellent.

Those of us w/minimally invasive, have variance in aphasias, memory, cognition, and so much more... You have been marvelous in that respect, for all the rest you have gone thru.

Kimberley, much love, hugs and prayers...

Pat

Did I get that wrong again? LOL - don't we wish we could do this when we are feeling blue?

Hi Kim, you were mighty busy responding to everyone on baf last night!! Hope you are having a good day. My cranioplasty ( using a prosthetic skull bone) went well but was more than I expected it to be with a skin graft, completely shaved head, etc. I had 17 staples removed last Wednesday from the skin graft area and am back with plastic surgeon today to remove 21 more staples and about 70 stitches. Somewhat disappointing is that I've been told I'll need a 4th surgery some months from now to suture the skin graft area (it's a gaping slice down the back of my head right now). My annie was discovered during a routine eye exam on 1/13/11, clipped 4/20/11, debridement 5/27/11, cranioplasty 1/18/12 ---- so it's been a long journey for me as well. I know that you've had the multiple followup appts, antibiotic IV's etc. I look to you as being my soul sister since we've experienced some of the same problems. I'm sure that we will see the end of this in 2012. Prayers and hugs being sent your way.

kim, hang in as you been it will be ok.

hugs

Kim, I saw the plastic surgeon yesterday and had the remaining staples and the stitches removed; head looks good and the skin graft is taking hold. Still open on the 4th surgery; depends on the skin graft over the next few months. I saw my surgical report and noted that they filled in part of the temple with methyl methacrylate - necessary due to temporalis muscle atrophy-- I knew what atrophy meant but I wasn't sure of the temporalis muscle - it is the muscle that maneuvers the jaw when chewing! I know that this muscle was cut during the initial surgery and I guess it atrophied over the last 10 months; can't open my mouth very wide making eating somewhat difficult and get pain in the area where the work was done in the temple area when I chew. As I have arthritis everywhere else in my body, I wouldn't be surprised if it's in the jaw too! Once again we have some similar results. I sure hope your jaw surgery is a great success - you deserve the best.

cyber hugs :)
