Cold spots tightness in head after coiling procedure for unruptured aneurysm

Hey there. I found out I had a multilobed unruptured aneurysm on my anterior communicating artery. I had the endovascular coiling procedure a couple days after that. After i was sent home i noticed that the left side of my face was experiencing cold sensations. Like it felt like i had a cold wash cloth across my forhead. Sometimes the feeling would go down into my cheeks or ear. Right now its in my Top of my head, my chin and around my eye while the rest of my face is perfectly normal.
Also ive been having this feeling that my skin is too tight or tension, but it again is only on the left side and it will move around. It gets active when i lay down to sleep. Its kind of freaking me out. Has anyone experienced anything like this? Could it just be anxiey? I do take 325mg aspirin and 20mg lisinopril. I also take 100mg of topomax to prevent headaches. Not sure if that has anything to do with anything. Its only been almost 4 weeks since my surgery. Im trying to remain calm but it’s hard.

Laura...welcome here...you are so new...and, you were so blessed a doctor would listen...and, hear, and set up the MRI for you..

Can you explain the lisinopril and topomax (prevent seizure - is somewhat common) but do not know the lisinopril...Were both of these prescribed post-postprocedure?

Do either have side-effects of the them? What did the doctor explain?

Lisinopril is a blood pressure med

Curious...did you have high BP / meds before your procedure - not just at/during the procedure?

I was taking 5 mg of the lisinopril before the procedure. The surgeons had to up it to 20 to bring my bp down below 140 and they put me on the aspirin. I had already been on the topomax to prevent headaches. I had a freak out a couple weeks after the procedure and had a CT and CTA. They said everything looked good in there. My post hospitalization followup visit with the neurosurgeon was delayed so i can’t ask him yet unless i call and wait for an answer…

Laura, go ahead and call, it won’t hurt, at the very least your doctor will be aware of your concerns. You may be able to send the doctor emails. Also, you might want to check with your pharmacist about side effects.

I ruptured so there’s a little difference in the brain having to reroute neurotransmitter messages and it did give weird sensations. I don’t know how much is different besides the blood in the subarachnoid space. I was six months post rupture of a multilobe when one grew behind the first and that was coiled. Also I think you’re one of the few members who have a multilobed aneurysm. If you find any information on them, I’d be interested!

Yes I have Laura , Many Many times....and still do...cold, and feels like my skin is getting stretched.

anyways the best thing I know that helps me is a rice pack heated in the microwave about a minute and half...you might have to redo this a few different times.....but I love how it does work on this problem we are having. I use my rice pack all the time and I used it right after surgery and anytime i get this feeling. I don't know why and have asked. Still get it after 2 1/2 years. but not as bad. Good luck

Hoping that you feel better

Laura....please forgive my slowness in responding...I am attempting a project and sooo slow on that..

To personal questions (somewhat)...did you have the high BP and lisinopril well before your aneurysm was diagnosed and treated...or after your aneurysm was diagnosed?

This gets, can get...so complex...

Again, please forgive me...I began a chapter...and, backed off for now...

Please let me/us know if your BP was an issue before diagnosis/treatment...or after treatment..

I have an unraptured aneurysm done on Feb 11, (Stent Coil) still have tension headache on my right temple plus... double vision on my right eyes due to the aneurysm. Feeling little comfortable now... I think it's normal. Thanks for sharing.

Does anyone have double vision and how long does it take to get full vision back?
