Has anyone been in a car accident AFTER having their aneurysm treated?
How long after your treatment was it?
What were the steps that were taken?
Today, 3.5 months after my ruptured aneurysm coiling, we were rear ended. Out of extreme concern we were ambulanced to the hospital where they did a no contrast CT and consulted my neurosurgeon office who said they were not worried at all and that there was no further need for scans unless signs of stroke/worst headache emerge. 2025 has not been my year.
Not been in a car accident since I ruptured, so can’t help with those questions. Really happy to read your neurosurgeon isn’t worried, that’s a relief! Did they check you for whiplash? I promise things will eventually get better, hang in there!
Probably need to see a doc on that and get one of those braces to keep your neck straight and maybe PT can help. I’ve had whiplash from being rear ended. Stubborn me, didn’t go to the PCP which was not my smartest choice given the already damaged vertebrae. Hope you get feeling better soon!
