Has anyone ever heard of stents moving, I had a coiling and stenting procedure in April and decided about 6 weeks later to spend 30 mins pulling some weeds in the garden and have been feeling peculiar ever since has anyone heard if the stents can move...... will look forward to any input, have a good day everyone
Hi Gill,
I dont know if stents move but I had a FDS put in in January and like you I suffered a few funny turns. Once when I bent down to untangle my dogs lead and I can up feeling really giddy. On another occasion, I was walking in an antiques fair and I thought I was going to pass out. I had to stop dead in my tracks. I think you need to take it easy. Drink 2 litres of water per day to keep the Brain oxyginated and try and rest more. If you are worried contact your neuro or neuro nurse. But its early days.
Thanks Jennifer, just nice to know I am not alone and having these funny feelings, so little info to go on, take care of you xx
hi gill! i had coiling but had a similar episode in a store-needed a time out-also i was told by the occ therapist never to put my head lower than my heart and then said-"the dr told you that right?" & i said no i dont recall that-so i try not to do that-one time i laid on my bed lookin under it and when i arose my head felt like a pressure drop-scared me since id forgoten not to do that- i had a panic attack then so i dont do it anymore!
Thanks Ron, I will remember that, have had no advice about what I can and cant do so all of your tips are much appreciated, x
Thanks Jo, just a bit unnerving at times when you feel unwell and you know you have perhaps over done it, I had a SAH Feb 2011 and all I remember about that time is having a good sort out and pulling things out from the back of a cupboard and wonder if that contributed to my bleed, it is nice to know you are not the only one, x
Hi Gill, I had a PED (stent) placed in May, I often have a peculiar feeling if I am tired after doing to much, or when I am walking I sometimes feel lightheaded or as though my brain is on a trampoline. I think it is still that our bodies are getting used to having something foreign in the brain. I had vertigo prior to my diagnosis and still have small attacks everyday, but it is tolerable. Keep positive and take it easy.
Hugs
Lynn
Hi Gill,
Another thing I found was that I could not have long telephone conversations on the telephone. I would feel worn out at the end and have to lie down. Or deal with anything that required any kind of concerntration or anything that I needed to dispute that I got upset about. I just had to leave them. Not to mention memory problems, on three occasions loosing my vision and it resolving, all these things. What helped was time, fish oil supplements and eating plenty of berries in particular raspberries. Inaddition to learning from everyone on this site which gave me peace of mind.
Thanks Lynn x
Thanks Jen x
Gill,
I was reading my paper work today on all the procedures that doctor may have had to use during my coiling and it said in rare cases stents can move.
Deanna
I had a coiling in April and have also felt that "brain on a trampoline" feeling. I have tried for 3 months to describe it to the doctor and family and you nailed it! Thanks so much for the clarity! I can be a the grocery store and have to grip onto the cart handles because I feel like I might either pass out or float away. This usually happens if I have been doing too much but it is an odd sensation. This site is so good for finding that much needed common ground!
Thanks Deanna, here is hoping I am not a rare case, it is good to have all this input as when I mention anything at the hospital all I get is this should not be happening now, we have dealt with it therefore you should be fine, it is a bit frustrating when you are often still in pain, once again thank you and have a good day xxx
