Laura, I didn’t have Botox treatment for nerve pain in the jaw, but I have been having treatments for migraines. It has been a godsend. Takes 30 shots for the migraines.

Laura,
They do the injections across the forehead, front top of head, down the sides, back of skull and a few in the neck. It works really well. I had daily migraines after my surgery and since July I have had 2 migraines that were pretty bad and about 3 weeks of low grade headaches. This happened the end of November when I had my eyesight go triple. Vision was double in each individual eye causing triple vision with both eyes open. I know a few members on here have had Botox treatments for eye nerves. If this is something your doctor is recommending it may be worth trying it.

Hi Laura...my trigeminal nerve was effected which includes the jaw area...I didn't know that Botox would help...however, at this point...I just want to stay away from another med...and see if any of this improves...keep us posted on your results...and a Happy New Year ... ~ Colleen
After three years we think that the damaged trigeminal nerve is one of the triggers for my migraines. I did notice that there is a pressure point wear my eye glasses rest above my right ear that gets really sore (next to the craniotomy site) I am so ready to put this all behind me.
I have some of the scar tissue above the right ear that gets tender too. I have to remind my neurologist next time to watch the scar when she does the injections. last time she hit it a few times. My muscle isn't sore any longer though, but cannot open my mouth all the way and need to make a dentist appointment and I have been putting it off.
