Another rare finding - dysautonmia orthostatic hypotension

So I go to the migraine clinic and blah, blah, blah, oxygen and Namenda come back and see if you need too, oh and by the way we want you to see the autonomic specialist for your low blood pressure issue. So the diagnosis is dysautonmia orthostatic hypotension, so my blood pressure doesn’t regulate like a normal persons. When I stand up it drops, a bunch causing dizziness. I have terrible fatigue because of it and they think it might be the cause of the migraines.

What causes it you ask, well it could be several things one of which is the clipping surgery, another cause could be the pituitary gland issue or an issue with the brain stem (MRI and MRA are clear).

Still waiting on more testing to figure out the cause.

Anyone else have this problem?

Hi Laura...I have heard of this in the past...Was your oxygen low? Bless your Heart Laura...you have had enough...keep educating us and keep us posted ~ Colleen

I was diagnosed with POTS about 6 months after my surgery (I had a pipeline placed for a unruptured giant aneurysm). My neurologist figured it out after I was experiencing major dizziness, low BP, fatigue and very high heartrate. She thinks it may have resulted from the surgery. I take a beta blocker and think it’s helped somewhat. Best of luck to you!

Kelly,

How long since your surgery? This is interesting. Do you feel better?
