ACOM brain aneurysm story...SUCCESS :)

My name is Jennifer and on January 27th, after being in a horrible car accident, I was told that a scan showed an ACOM brain aneurysm. A week later I had a scan with contrast to confirm. Fast forward several months, and many sleepless, crying, worrying nights later…
I am a mother to 7 children 13 and under, and I underwent open brain surgery on May 9th to have the aneurysm clipped. It was a hard recovery, for me, my husband, and our children. It was hard to be out of work, it was hard with the pain and new scar along my face, it was hard leading up to the surgery with all the preparation and anxiety, and it was hard adjusting to life after the surgery and my new normal of having brain fogginess, headaches, and some memory issues. But I wanted to touch base and assure everyone that while the diagnosis is scary and the outcome can be uncertain…in many cases things work out well and life can get back to normal. I realize how lucky I was for mine to have been caught in an unrelated car accident and that I was very fortunate to have mine fixed before a rupture happened. I just want to spread hope, awareness, and positivity to this community.
