85 % contained aneurysm

You sound very positive, I feel that's the way we heal. As for me, I had a full coil and shunt placed. Other than the occasional Short term memory, I can't complaint. Just returned from my first over seas trip to see my family. A gift I feel I was given. I never imagined being here after the ordeal on 2/18/2012. I tell my family, I'm still here to bug you all. God Bless Lori.

hi! not sure what contained means, my b/a required recoiling and afterwards they said it was 100% occluded, I wasn't sure what occluded meant either but judging from the huge smile dr had I figured it was blocked, the dr ran out of the room then before I could question- guess he was really busy with emergency?

Hi Lori,

wishing you all the beat...I had a full bleed and it's been 10 years now. They cotterized my blood vessels.I'm not sure about a containment. I'm with you girl, enjoy the blessings and miracles our Lord God has given us!

Hi Lori, My 1st aneurysm ruptured in 1988. they found 2 more. All were clipped. ONE has 2 clips on it and it is 80% contained. To this day, NO Change in that one... I worried about it for years, but, absolutely no change. (then 2011, 2nd rupture of 6th aneurysm, coiled. 2013 pipeline for #4 and #5. Honestly, I have a great deal of faith in my 4 clips (for 3 aneurysms), No change, nothing since 1988. Hopefully these new things, coils and pipelines are just as good

Totally agree with your response!!

Hey Lori, mine was in 2010 had a SAH rupture of 2. I have coils. I know what you mean about the filter, my husband says the same thing. I was always dingy now my husband says cause u am dizzy it works. Headaches are less often and not as bad. Dizzy still but not as much. Then there is the short term memory. Age doesn’t help. Just very blessed to be here. We are all God’s miracles!!! Welcome and take care.

Hi lori I had a stroke and they found an aneurism the dr wanted to surgery. But they found it would cause another stroke and so they refuse to do surgery so I live one day at a time. GOD is keeping me alive I know it seems scary but we are here. I pray everything will be good for you. Chauntel

Hi Lori - I had to smile when I read about having less of a filter on your mouth. Well, that's me for sure since my SAH this past February. I thought I was outspoken before but now I'm outspoken with everybody. So far no one has been mad at me so that's a good thing! Plus since the SAH it seems like everyone is nice so that is also a good thing. Maybe they're worried I'm a nut and they don't want to antagonize me so they let me talk! :-) As far as memory, my short term is shaky and definitely not an age thing although I'm 58. My doctor said my coils have compacted and since it's so big he felt there is a chance of a re-bleed so, having more coils done this Thursday. I opted for more coils since it was the less invasive treatment for now and will do a wait and see. I can't undergo clipping since my aneurysm is close to an artery and would likely cause paralysis. The other option is a pipeline but more risky so again I'm going with more coils. Will look at it again in January. I don't know how compacted my coils are but feel I don't want to take a chance of the re-bleed no matter what the percentage is. So, I don't have quite the same situation as you but sort of since the aneurysm is not fully contained at this point. I would go with your gut. There is so much information you can get and so many opinions from other people and second opinions. It makes my head spin and now I'm adding to it! I trust my doctor so I'm following what he suggests but do whatever you feel is right. I know it's hard to do that. I'm not looking forward to the coiling but feel it's necessary to put my mind at ease. I wish you all the best with your decision and will be thinking of you!

Praying for the best for you with your coiling. I think I am starting to lean that way. Time to make that call :P. Thanks for your kind response!

Thanks! The Lord wants us all to live daily relying on Him. Some of us just have more reminders of that than others!

You take care too!

Wow, sorry to hear you have gone through so much!

Thanks for your concern! So sorry you had a second SAH. Blessings on you as you heal. Lori

I share in your thankfulness for all God has done. Bless you in your journey!

Thank you for your best wishes! All the best to you.

Thank you for your reply. My neurosurgeon and IR doctor seem to feel this decision is up to me. I appreciate not being pressured, but being told it is a gray area makes deciding tough. I pray the Lord makes it clear to me as I continue on this journey. Blessings on you!

Thank you for your reply. Glad your second coiling went well!

Thank you for your reply. So sorry you have had to go through so much! Blessings on you!

Thank you for your reply. When I had my rupture it was all about saving my life. Now that I am doing so well, it is hard to know exactly which direction to take. So I understand exactly what you are saying. Glad stent and coiling worked out well!

That's great that you got to take your trip. I got back a few weeks ago from helping with my grandson after my daughter had surgery and I am heading out soon to help with my son's newborn. I know what you mean about being given a gift. It is such a blessing to be able to do these things!
