Today is the day when I celebrate my 4 year survival of a ruptured brain aneurysm. It could have ended my life but it didn’t. I will have my MRA with and without contrast in two days. I’m really hoping that everything looks fine with my stent and coils. I got the stent and more coils six months after the rupture as my wide neck aneurysm needed more than the initial coils. Fingers crossed that I don’t have to do any more surgery, but if I have to, I will get it done.
Thanks to everyone on this site, it has really helped me in my recovery.
All the best to you all, especially the ones who recently have learned they have an aneurysm or for those who have ruptured.

Happy anniversary!! I am so happy that you are here with us, and your story is just yet another example that life post-rupture IS possible!
I am grateful for all your recent advice and wisdom. You definitely made my own journey a little easier, and I am thankful for you!
Please keep us posted as to how your MRI goes: we will be there for you no matter what they find out!!

Thank you Yes I am planning to share my MRI results
Congrats
Age 23- Had ruptured aneurysm with subarachnoid hemorrhage resulting in brain stroke. 2 attempted coilings, both unsuccessful resulting in 50/50 survival. Had the brain surgery and celebrating 21 years post surgery. Celebrate each anniversary, it’s a God-given gift to be here.
@Mika_McC

Happy anniversary @JoSanti!!!
Between you and @oct20, I am starting to think that we should have our in-person conference in late October so we can celebrate with you both live and in-person (chocolate cake anyone?).
O.k., yes I know that is absolutely NEVER going to happen, but it just makes me smile daydreaming about the idea.
Continue to treat yourself well on behalf of all of us!
@FinWhaleFan
It’s always a good idea to celebrate our survival.
I got my stent and additional coils after my rupture one day before my birthday.
On my birthday it was time to go home and the nurses gave me a huge piece of chocolate cake, and they said; don’t tell the neurosurgeon because he will not be happy with my elevated blood sugar
awesome!!! Carry on, Mika!
