Good Morning Everyone, Everywhere! Nina woke me up at 0300! The little raggedy ragamuffin then decided she didn’t want to go outside. Nope, not going to happen look. That’s after I turned on the skunk deterrent lights front and back. Okay, they’re just the outside lights but if you’ve been reading these awhile, you all know the girls like skunks, too much if you ask me. That’s why we call the lights skunk deterrent lights, in hopes of getting the smelly creatures to move on prior to the girls going outside. I put on my big girl pants (sweat pants over my flannel pj’s) and out she went. Good thing too, she made it three steps off the back steps and did what she needed to do. She went looking for her squirrel friends but they’re not awake at that time of day. Heck it’s almost 0630 and they’re still not awake. The song birds are treating the new day though.
I love this time of day. Gives me a moment to experience gratitude for still being around. I’ve always enjoyed songbirds but I’m not sure I gave them as much thought as I have since I ruptured. Life is always changing and sometimes we need to just slow down. Interestingly enough, it took my rupture to slow the heck down. I may be too slow now, just saying.
I get side tracked easily and it’s hard to keep my focus on anything. 15 minutes is good so I do chores in 15 minute intervals. I’ve been trying for more and sometimes I can but not consistently for the most part. I can color with my pencils for 15 minutes. BH was teaching me dominos when we were on vacation. I had to concentrate a lot so it wore me plumb out but I enjoyed it nonetheless. However, if I’m doing yard work, I can stick to it until it’s done or I am, depending on how many limbs I’ve got to pick up. Normally I just get on and off the tractor and throw them in the bucket until it’s full and dump it where we burn them. We’ve had so many dry low humidity, windy days there’s been no burning and I’ve not been on the tractor to do any yard work. I’m trying to organize the tractor shed.
BH came down the other day to help out. BH is retired and is experiencing that mind set. Normally BH can think ahead of me but we weren’t doing well. I know the problem, BH has to have a colonoscopy on Monday and was worried about the new stuff the GI doc had ordered. Last time it didn’t go so well and BH stopped drinking that nasty tasting stuff. I’m encouraging BH to get it all down today. Hopefully it will all come out and tomorrow will be good with no fussing from the GI doc.
Oh a young hawk just flew past! Yep, it did distract me. Some things are worth it and a young hawk is definitely in the worth it list. Speaking of which, I like lists. They help me to stay on track for most everything. When I first ruptured I used sticky notes all over the house to remind me of things I needed to do or remember to do. If I did it, I could remove the sticky note, easy smeasy. Then a friend from here gave me a couple of nice white boards which I could use and just make a check mark when I got something done. I recall the rules that I had to follow for when I needed to go to the ER were placed right on the refrigerator door. Back then, I had to go a lot more than I liked. We were even told to go to the ER at Baptist one time which led to another coiling procedure. Apparently I was experiencing vasospasms per the Radiology findings from the imaging. I forget which type.
Gosh darn it the crows just flew overhead. Not a fan of them they move the songbirds away. Where is that hawk? I’m rambling, I’m under the weather today, thought it was allergies but BH thought it a bad cold and I’m on theraflu stuff day and night. It’s helping so that’s good but I better get to the welcomes as I’m getting a bit tired, and distracted. I need to hydrate!
