Again apologies, OT was a bit more than normal because I’m stubborn, hard headed and obstinate according to my OT. I thought I just needed to do some stuff. So a lot more welcomes, let’s get to them shall we?
@tropical is in Serbia and is on the Watch and Wait list for an incidentally found small aneurysm. Lazarus shares she’s scared and is already struggling with depression and anxiety, along with other medical issues. The first Neurosurgeon didn’t provide her with much information on how to proceed with her life at the State run Clinic so she’s getting a second opinion from a private pay Neurosurgeon. Lazarus, like so many of us, feels isolated and alone. Also like so many of us, there are no available resources for people with brain aneurysms. Fortunately she found us!
@ma_pereira is in California also had an incidental find of a 7.3mm paraophthalmic aneurysm. She had a flow diverter placed around May 23 I think and is learning to deal with it.
@hewei is in Nevada. Elijah has a 3 mm ICA, Elijah has been watching BAF YouTube videos, hopes for new treatment options and fight for research funding.
@Alicia21 is in Arkansas. Was treated with craniotomy in June 2024, She found an Infundibulum.
@BWH is in Illinois. Bridgett has had two brain surgeries, lost vision in her right eye after the first surgery and is still dealing with daily headaches.
@Tlms72 Teri is in Canada. She had a ruptured aneurysm in 2018 that was coiled. Things were going well until the follow up MRI this year. Both aneurysms have grown resulting in one being clipped this month and the other being watched.
@Angela45 is down in Alabama (we say ROLL TIDE in our home!). Angela had one aneurysm that was 22 mm and was found incidentally because she kept going numb in her left arm. She ended up having an endovascular procedure.Since the coiling two months ago, she is having the worst headaches, left arm numbness, severe pain in shoulder blade and up neck so now, she is scared that she has a blood clot or something else seriously wrong. Angela would like to know if anyone has had weight gain with bloated, swollen hands and face. She is pleading for our help. Angela, if you haven’t already, go to the General tab and start a new topic.
@Mystic is in California. Mystic shares that they has had chronic migraines for over a decade. Mystic has tried everything, medication, lifestyle changes, Botox; with nothing bringing lasting relief. Mystic researched nerve decompression, read patient stories on headache surgery and finally to go for it. Mystic, although our members all have experience with brain aneurysms. We certainly know about headaches and migraines and hopefully you can find some support here.
@MLK Mary is out in Alaska. She’s had 3 unruptured brain aneurysms and all were clipped. Mary asked, if we all go back and forth with PTSD and head pain. She is still working on getting all her muscles back since the surgeries. Mary has also lost her sense of smell and taste, she can no longer produce tears when she cries, her eyes just burn. Mary, we have many members who have had craniotomy’s, hopefully some of them will come and share their experiences. The rest of us are here to support you.
@BobbieD Bobbie is in Massachusetts. On May 21, 2025, Bobbie had the worst headache of her life, she laid down and it completely went away. After resting for 2 days and treating with migraine meds, she flew from Boston to LA for the weekend. She knows she’s lucky she didn’t rupture! Bobbie returned home, went to the ER and an MRI found an 11 mm aneurysm. Bobbie was treated with coils and a stent. Currently she is having headaches and fatigue, she’s had one incident of stabbing pain behind the eye where the aneurysm is. Bobbie is hoping the headaches will get better. On a side note, Bobbie does work that is close to my heart. Not only is she an adoptive mother, she works with foster parents to understand the impact of trauma of child behavior and parenting.
@NthPortal Marian is in the NE USA. She also had an incidental find on her internal carotid artery that requires treatment. Marian has a lot going for her, as she is healthy, an active mountain biker and hiker.
@robjea Robert is across the pond, in Scotland. He was recently diagnosed with an 11 mm aneurysm close to the main artery. Robert is looking for some advice on having surgery or just being monitored. Robert, please remember that our members cannot offer medical advice, what we can offer is our experiences and our support. Please go to the General tab and start a new topic.
@RobinL Robin is in Wyoming. Her husband Rex suffered a ruptured brain aneurysm June 7, 2025 and is fighting for his life. Robin, every one of us who have ruptured knows deep down the value of their caregiver, please talk to us, we would like to know how you are doing.
@MaryAnnM MaryAnn is up in Virginia. MaryAnns’ sister passed away from a brain aneurysm 3 days after her 61st birthday. MaryAnns’ doctor was on the ball and recommended that she get an MRI/A. Wouldn’t you know it, MaryAnn found out that she has an aneurysm too. She is currently working on a treatment plan. I’m sure with the support of her husband of 45 years and her plethora of kin folk, she has a bit of support. But we can add to that large support group with our experiences!
@Rachel77 Rachel is right below me in South Carolina. Rachel had her 2nd stroke on May 5th. A CT scan was done, and an incidental find of 2 brain aneurysms, one behind each eye. The right side is 5 mm and the left side is 3 mm. If that isn’t enough for somebody to deal with, she also has Rheumatoid Arthritis. She no longer can enjoy cross stitch.
@NancyG Nancy is out west in California. Nancy was treated with WEB device Oct 2022 and 6/9/2025 received coils and stent. Nancy shares that she had Vertigo in 2021 and her ears plugged, She went to an ENT to deal with her plugged ears and was told “she just had to live with it”. She decided to get a second opinion, that doctor recommended an MRI/A, which found the 7mm aneurysm. She had her first surgery 10/22 with annual follow up MRA’s. It was discovered that some of the aneurysm came back as the WEB device compressed. Nancy just had her 2nd procedure about 2 weeks ago, coiling and a stent. She had the catheter put in her radial and not her femoral artery this time, sharing that it’s been much better for mobility and less pain. (AMEN Sister)! Nancy also shares that she is recuperating and doing pretty well, experiencing fatigue and the need to rest regularly. Besides being very grateful, Nancy loves being in nature, living in San Diego she is able to take relaxing beach walks. Nancy is already helping us sharing that she is using Headspace “a great app for sleep and relaxation techniques”. Thanks Nancy!
The welcomes are caught up!!! Apologies for taking so long, each and every one of you are important, make no mistake about it! BH had to help me finish this part too, I just couldn’t type anymore, I really am hard headed. So a big shout out to BH for letting me dictate.
Remember folks, we give and receive here on our support group. If you need support, start a new topic. We usually use the General tab and sometimes the Support tab. If you come across something like Nancy did with Headspace, please share it in the General tab! If someone puts it in the wrong place, I will move, retitle it, whatever is needed and let you know.
BIG WELCOME TO ALL Y’ALL!
