Morning World of BAF support group members! My surgery with the 4 procedures is done! The funniest thing I did was clonked my head with the cast. Hopefully it knocked some sense into me. The nerve block was still active so I’m unsure what message my brain sent but there you have it, I’m blaming my brain again! I can honestly say I’d rather have an angiogram than the procedures on my arm/hand again. I have found out that the CRNA has a phone to call the anesthesiologist if something goes awry. Apparently it’s The Rule at every hospital. Who knew? A double shot of nerve block had me hollering something, BH said I didn’t curse but now I know why he had 2 RNs holding my arm. They called another in so he could finish guess thus old gal still has some strength. Met the Resident doing the assist and had a nice conversation with her. She is passionate in her chosen field, I like to see people passionate with what they want to do in life. I think they become better than the rest. Without passion, it’s just a job. No one should settle for just a job, we should all be so lucky to find something we love to do. I told her she should move the surgeon over and do some of the slice and dice herself but I forgot to tell the surgeon. Surgeon just said good morning they’d get to me in a few minutes. Not sure why they were late. Had to be there at 0900, we got there about 0840 due to traffic. We use the Wave app and it continuously redirected us. Guess there was an accident on the Interstate. I forget how city life is, we just had to drive 31 miles but took us a bit over 90 minutes. I googled the speed which is about 20 mph! How do y’all do it? Is that why it seems like city dwellers are always in a hurry? Charlotte definitely needs to add to their rail system to ease traffic congestion.
Rain has stopped and BH has dried off our patio table! BH has gone above and beyond taking care of me. It’s been hard work since most things take 2 hands. I was able to get Ohana’s vomit up which BH says we’re even. Ohana gets an upset tummy whenever someone or something isn’t right in her world. I even got a shower yesterday and we managed to keep the cast dry! One of the RNs set me up with a roll of tape and a pillow for the ride home besides the pink marble wedge with holes and a slit. I do believe it’s a 30 degree angle. If you rupture, you quickly learn all about 30 degrees and it becomes really easy to spot. Have you noticed how easy it is to relate our experience with aneurysms to just about everything and anything?![]()
Let’s get to the welcomes so I can get to doing something besides playing sudoku and watching the tele or reading….@FinWhaleFan gave me a lot of suggestions and I think I’ll practice my handwriting skills writing letters to some of my family. The last letter I wrote certainly yelled at me, my handwriting skills have gone down the drain.
@Diana12 is up in New York and has just been diagnosed with an ophthalmic aneurysm at 1.4mm. She has her appointment with a neurosurgeon in 2 weeks. Diana shares she’s a “Boy mama x2” and a florist. Big hearty welcome to you Diana! We know how stressful the not knowing can be. @2hotinPHX just had an angiogram Hello all, newbie here with a recently found 4 mm unruptured aneurysm in the right Anterior Communicating Artery at A1/A2 segment and @Maxbaifred here Newly diagnosed and scared - #3 by 2hotinPHX are the 2 latest members discussing their journey. I’m so very proud of all of you who have really stepped up and helped other members! You are loved! You are kind! Yes I’m borrowing from The Help, a great movie! You’ll most likely see me just giving out hearts but I am reading. The wisdom, experience and humor you share is outstanding, Big Virtual Hugs!
Don’t forget to thank your caregivers (careers if you’re across the pond). BH just put a sweat jacket on me so the wind doesn’t cut through. Remember to hydrate, eat protein and of course practice your choice of relaxation breathing. It’s extremely important to take care of ourselves, so gripping is allowed but not doing some type of deep breathing isn’t. If you can’t find one you like just start a new topic and we will bombard you with different methods! Did you acknowledge a positive upon waking? I have seen many and I’ve only been up less than 4 hours! Practice makes perfect in everything!
Have a great week! Thanks again for all y’all do!
