10-21 Webinar: “Brain Aneurysm Genetics: What do we know?”

We are happy to offer our next online support webinar, “Brain Aneurysm Genetics: What do we know?”

In response to so many in-person support group meetings being canceled, we hope this will help patients and families find some comfort during this difficult time.

Anirudh Penumaka, M.D., M.Sc. is a 4th year resident in neurosurgery at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and Boston Medical Center residency program. He is from Hunt Valley, Maryland and attended medical school at the Duke University School of Medicine in Durham, NC. During medical school, he performed research into immunotherapy for glioblastoma and also completed a master’s degree in neuroscience from the University of Oxford in the United Kingdom. Prior to entering medical school, Ani graduated cum laude from Harvard University with a bachelor’s degree in Chemical and Physical Biology, and a minor in economics. During his undergraduate studies, he performed research into ion channel biology.

He is currently a research fellow at the Broad Institute, under the supervision of Dr. Benjamin Neale, and Dr. Justin Moore. His research interests include brain aneurysm genetics, and neuro-oncology. In his free time, he enjoys rowing on the Charles river in Boston, and traveling with friends and family.

This one hour webinar will begin with a brief overview of the Brain Aneurysm Foundation followed by a short talk with questions for Dr. Penumaka and end with an open Q&A with participants.
