I am having my mca aneurysm clipped in October. The countdown is on. I am both terrified and anxious to get it over with. I am looking for advice on what to expect- with surgery and recovery. Any tips or things you wish you knew during your recovery? Much appreciated!
I had my unruptured Annie clipped with open craniotomy in January, 2015. I am 66. Surgery was on a Tuesday, I don’t remember Wednesday, walked outside the hospital around the block in my bathrobe on Thursday (Yikes! ), went home Friday, out to dinner and the movies on Saturday, lunch and shopping on Sunday, and back to 1-2 mile walks everyday thereafter … And most importantly, a nap every afternoon!! For me, the worst part was the waiting to have the procedure. We are the lucky ones; our Annie’s were not ruptured. Think positive, plan a vacation, enjoy your retirement, and enjoy life.
Kit, how did your surgery go? Hope it was successful and you enjoyed the holidays.

Nancy, may I ask you which location you had clipped. I am also your age and mine is PICA which is very rare. Glad you did so well Thank you
