Scheduled for pipeline stent diversion procedure

Hello all,

so I have two annies above and below the same artery close together so doc whom I trust, is planning on placing a pipeline stent in to divert blood from annies, both at same time, the doc who invented this stent will be there as a consultant doc. any feedback would be appreciated, thank you, Ellie

Hi Ellie,

I have just left hospital today after having two flow diverting stents. I can honestly say it went much better than expected. I feel a lot better after this one than I did when I had my coils fitter and the stents are supposed to be more complicated.

Going in there with determination and a positive attitude really turned everything around for me. I felt great after it. My groin was sore but they’ve been in four times so it’s expected.

Hope that helps!

I had the newer "Pipeline Flex" placed back at the end of July in my very small (1.4mm diameter) PICA artery. It was used "off-label". My case was difficult because the artery took many twists and turns, but the surgeon was able to place the PED. I had a difficult recovery, but am doing well now. I had mine done up at NYU Langone. Are you having it done in NYC?

Hey
Bloomsie, welcome home, continue to feel good! thanks for your positive feedback! Anafa, Ellie

Hey Patty, mine is being used off label as well, but the doc who created it dr pk nelso will be assisting, consulting. I will be at vassar hospital, my annies are 4 mm and very small, too small to coil, sorry to hear of difficult recovery, I am hoping for the best outcome, wishing you good healing, Anafa- Ellie

That's great--nothing like the inventor their to assist. He'll be sure the job gets done right! Good luck. I will be thinking of you. Keep us posted!

Good luck!

Now I know why that name rings a bell. When I was doing all my research, I remember reading that the PED was invented up at NYU--partly the reason I went there. It's great that Dr. Nelson is willing to go over to Vassar to assist.

I don’t know if he’s assisting or observing or training but I’m thinking it to be a good thing for sure!!

Blessings and prayers for your success... fabulous to know the investor will be observing / assisting...

Thank you, kind of amazing

Wow Anafa! To have not only a doctor you trust, but the inventor as well! I’m sure you are in good hands!

Thank you! I appreciate your support
