That is good.. I must have misunderstood when the neurosugeon explained about Plavix etc
...definitely less risk of complications with coiling I agree...I will be able to tell after the surgery how I feel about clipping :)

Hi Sherree,
I just joined this site. Hope you are still available to visit with. I am having surgery this Thursday, May 2nd, 1013 to clip an aneurysm I had coiled 18 months ago after 2 bleeds. I don't understand it all fully, but I think the coil is allowing some filling so they tell me the clip will seal it for good. What am I getting into???? If I don't do it I will experience another hemorrhage sooner or later. From the time I had my MRI & MRA in Feb. to my cerebral angiogram in March it had grown. Having the thought of the possibility of another bleed with no notice in the back of my mind has been wearing on me so I opted for surgery soon. What challenges and deficits did you experience?
Hi Terri - so sorry for all you are going through! It is a scary time and a long journey. Like you, I am a mom with young kids and so I understand your feelings. I had my aneurysm clipped May 2012 and it has been a very positive experience. There were many reasons I chose the clipping but some of the highlights...shape and location of aneurysm, because of my age (33 at the time) worry that coils would need further attention as I got older so clipping was a more final solution. Every situation is unique so I wish you the best of luck!
I have been blessed with an excellent recovery and life is great. I appreciate every day and every thing I have and hug my children a little tighter now. I am at work so need to get back at it but if you ever want to chat more, send me a message. I have no regrets about my choice, although that is easy to say now with the way things have turned out! I wish you all the best during this tough time.
Take care!
Welcome Terri! You are feeling normal things that all of us have gone through and/or are still going through. Mine ruptured, they coiled it but the coiling failed then they had to clip it. I am doing better than ever after the clipping. It will be a year in July. Thoughts and prayers are with you and we are all hear to help when you need to vent. Hang in there!! <3
