Welcome @Maxbaifred -
We are so very glad that you found this little corner of the Internet too, and it is very good to have you with us!
That is so wonderful to learn that your Mom survived her rupture. She is one of the giants on whose shoulders I stand since I, too, ruptured, so we are very grateful for all the foundation that she provided for us us experiencing this later on!! There have been leaps and bounds made medically since her experience, and it (anecdotally) seems like they have made a lot of progress even in the past three years since I ruptured.
If you should be interested, the BAF had a webinar back in 2023 that I am providing a link to on the “Struggles of Watching and Waiting.”
I thought that you might find the first part interesting, as they discuss how doctors decide the best course of treatment for aneurysms, and size is only just one of the factors used.
Additionally, there is a non-profit organization in the UK that focuses on hereditary brain aneurysms. They have a number of patient guides, and - as an example - I wanted to link to the one that struck me, just in case of interest.
Throughout my journey I was encouraged to take up mindfulness/meditation and - personally - it has helped me to learn how to focus on the moment, and not stress over things outside my control. I appreciate it is not for everyone though! @Moltroub (our Moderator) asked me to start a collection of stress-reducing tips, so you may want to peruse - and certainly add to if you see something missing! - for ideas: Stress Reduction: Library of breathing videos/resources
When is your appointment with your GP scheduled? Have you been able to schedule an appointment with a neurosurgeon/neuroradiologist/neurologist just yet?
Please let us know what questions you may have or how else we can support you!!
Sending you good thoughts!
