Massage?

Has anyone had a massage while on their blood thinners? I want to get one (just a light swedish) the day before my surgery.

Just curious to others experience.

Thanks:)

Hi Stephanie,

I have no experience with blood thinners, but I would check with my doctor first.

FYI: I'm a regular user of massage and fervent believer of it's benefits but my gut says don't do it.

I have decided on a Reiki treatment instead. After I read your comment Carole, I thought for a few minutes and the last thing I want is extra bruising or have something unexpected to happen. I can't go through cancelling again!

Energy work will benefit as much as a massage. Anything that can calm my body, help me be more positive, and quiet my mind so I can hear God speak reassurances is fine by me:)

Hi Stephanie,

May I also suggest listening to beautiful music and viewing images of beauty all around us along with prayer? The memories will linger and you can visualize them on the way to your procedure and during recovery.
