Has anyone had this problem

My husband is having problems again, his left eye is drooping, he is now having pains in his left ear, severe pains, he refuses to go to the dr or let me call them I guess I'm just worried he has an aneurysm they can't do surgery on...

Dream...

First suggestion...try a hug and tell him how much he means to you and why you want him to be seen by a doctor and possible referral to testing...

If he won't...call on a phone away from his hearing...ask the doc...IF your hub still refuses...ask family/fiend to assist you...in the explanation and/or escorting...Next step...call your 9-1-1 and ask them if they can help...for whatever puts you at comfort...

I have had the issues you describe for several years...however...I have a strong advance directive... which I began when I was under 40 years old...having observed loved ones under other disease care...And, I have never changed it...except intermittent updates...As we age...so do others... sometimes they change....long before aging... as we see the vast age ranges here...

Prayers you get your comfort in decisions and results...

Thank you so much for your advice, I have tried everything, when our granddaughter gets home if he does not agree to go to the hospital by car, I am calling 911. I left a message at his drs office and still no reply, I left it at his PCP and neurosurgeon now the waiting game begins

Dream...added prayer...is how your granddaughter may be able to 'talk with her granddad"...? ..they ae often ...good word...have a loving, pampered connection...and, she may have that sweet voice to use at the right time......

Dream, it’s a hard place to want to help a loved one and them keeping their control as an individual. I would ask him why he doesn’t want medical care, is he tired or is he afraid. Like Ms Pat suggests, another family member may be able to get through where you cannot. If you have waited a couple hours from the PCP you might want to call again. Could it be possible that one of them already called and he picked up the phone?

Dream, is he refusing to go to the Doc because he's afraid of what they'll find? I think I just put my family through this. I had a really scary headache over a week ago and flat out refused to see anyone. Once it was gone I decided to see a local doc and received a scolding for waiting. Ended up having to do a CT scan and now have MRI/MRAs scheduled for this Friday. I'm embarrassed to say I've been making my family's life miserable by complaining about those tests. But in reality it's because I'm afraid that they'll find something. And that I'll have to go through the whole process of surgery and healing all over again. So if it was up to me, I'd rather hide my head under the blankets. No news is good news kind of thinking. Then I told myself would I rather wait for a rupture if it was an aneurysm. So long story short...perhaps he's afraid of the results. Maybe if you explain that it's best to find out early...

Harlylena,

I, too think it is because he is so scared of what they might find. He had such a rough time with the last aneurysm that he is refusing any treatment till it ruptures, but the location of the 2nd one is where the dr can not operate, so I will lose him. I am so scared. We have talked till we are blue in the face, no one can talk him into going....so right now we are in a waiting mode....scared and praying for a good outcome
