Emotional and confused

FWIW, one thing I have learned throughout this journey is how crazy, busy neuro teams are!

My first neurologist retired ~6 months into my journey. Long story as to why, but I spent some time calling around for a new neurologist with months waiting as the normal. I knew it was bad when there was a Google Answers explaining that the average wait can be a year - that is how in-demand they are! This is why everyone young person I meet who is interested in medical stuff, I just say go into neuro (surgeon, nurse, etc., as appropriate!).

One thing we often say around here is that healing from a brain injury is not in days or weeks, but in months and years. I am half-way through a book someone mentioned here, so I haven’t finished just yet, but one person’s recovery from a stroke (AVM, a different type of hemorrhagic stroke than an aneurysm) took 8 years. I will say that again: EIGHT years! What tenacity, strength and resilience!!!

So in that time between appointments what you can think about is if there any improvements you can make to prioritize your brain health. Cleveland Clinic has great SEO people, as its results seem to come to the top for me:

You are doing just fine.! Give yourself the grace and space to heal, and keep thinking positively!
