Driving Clearance

Has anyone had problems getting coverage from their auto insurance after their surgeon has cleared them for work? Mine suggested that I get cleared and tested their a specialized group that will give me a driving test. I am worried that my insurance company will cancel me whether I get cleared or not.

I have not heard of this happening either, however I do know that if you have had siezures then you must go one year without before allowing to drive again. I hope this helps.

Judy…I am a major promoter of public safety far beyond our personal safety; another time I will tell more… NO, I had no accident…a blessing; Spent a lot of time talking w/my insurer; advised me as long as I am legally licensed, I am covered…I was legally licensed; had been re-tested after a state form was signed by an md… I have limited confidence in this process if complete, in-depth vision testing has not been done.

Recently, I found a site “State vision Requirements” http://mdsupport.org/library/drivingrequirements.html. (yes, I am qualified to drive, and not competent enough to put in a website for easy access) Please remember that when you know I am legally licensed to drive next to you…OK…smile…

Another site "On-Road Driving Performance by Persons with Hemianopia and Quadrantopia…
http://www.iovs.org/cgi/content/full/50/2/577 May be easier to put these titles in search… to get to them.

Your insurance company may be suggesting the first main site noted above…for anyone with vision / balance issues; I hope they will research the second one on hemianopia and quadrantopia…as well.
I printed this data off last month; have not had time to pursue it…I can only do one thing at a time.
I hope you will let us know if you find help from these sites…
