Good Morning World! Did y’all notice I didn’t do any welcomes last Sunday? Couldn’t even if I tried. Haven’t even been on the site. I’ll catch up with reading how y’all supported each other without me, I’m pretty sure you’ve done great. Anyhow, I got the notion to change some burned out bulbs…huge mistake. Three of the bulbs were screwed in too tight. Don’t do that! It means that the bulb comes out and leaves the screw in metal part, nope don’t know what its called but if you’ve ever changed a light bulb, you get it. And yes as a matter of fact, I do give the bulb a slight push when unscrewing because that’s what’s worked for me in the past when I wasn’t the one who screwed in a bulb.

Anyhow I messed up my dang thumb and wrist on the left hand and my pinched nerve really didn’t like me. Up on a ladder I was, yes I know the no ladder rule. But BH gives it leeway when BH is there. Probably because BH doesn’t want to be climbing ladders LOL. So up there I am with the left hand grasping the glass thingy and the right hand with a pair of needle nose pliers bending and unscrewing the metal out of the socket. I need a taller ladder. After getting the new bulbs in and no they don’t match, using up what they left when we bought the house. Don’t care right now, they will burn out and I’ll eventually get them all matching. BH said my face turned red.

BH has informed me that my face turns colors with the amount of pain I’m under - white-red and then green. The green is when my stomach can’t take the pain I imagine. I told BH I’m apparently celebrating holidays. Of course BH told me to stop and of course I didn’t listen and finished changing out the bulbs. I don’t know how to access the little ones inside the glass up by the ceiling so I’ll probably at some point get the taller step ladder, I think it’s 8’, hopefully 10’ because God built the ground to close to my hind end. I don’t remember. Anyhow the whole thing put me out of commission for what felt like forever. Couldn’t type, couldn’t carry much of anything and couldn’t grasp with my left hand. Nina our shedder wasn’t even brushed, floors not swept, couldn’t open the dogs treat bag…you get the idea. Lots of time spent with my left hand and wrist in the heating pad as OT taught. The pinched nerve got some muscle balm treatment and some OTCs until my fingers could move correctly. I was a hot mess as they say around here.

One would think that for as long as I’ve been here, I’d remember what Merl has tried so hard to teach us repeatedly, don’t push through stuff thinking we can as we are healing from a procedure. It will set you back faster than you can type! I should have listened. I should have remembered. I should have not been a stubborn donkey. But yet, I was. Hopefully I’ve learned my lesson

Merl’s wisdom, like many of what our members share can be related to many things, not just an aneurysm or a procedure to fix it. I definitely need to pay more attention. Should have told myself that they’d been out for a couple of weeks and not have tried to push myself through. Really, what would have been the issue to wait another day or so? Think about that the next time you try to push through something, try to remember the wisdom that comes from our members experiences. I’m pretty sure it will help you in life. Now on to the welcomes!

Starting us out is@Cleo over in RCT Aberdare. Yes, I did look that up Cleo is in Wales! Cleo’s grandfather had an aneurysm and now Cleo is advocating for family. Good for you Cleo! Hopefully your grandfather is ok. Please start a new topic under the General tab and let us know how you’re going about advocating for your family, I’m sure it will help other members and perhaps some can make suggestions for you to take it even farther!

@Kellyc is down in Florida. Kelly is also a relative but that’s all we know. Hopefully Kelly will add to her story under the General tab with a new topic.

@Chelll01 is over the Appalachians in TN. Michelle shares she is a caregiver and had an unruptured aneurysm. While driving she temporarily lost vision in her right eye. Went to ER waited several hours and had a CT Scranton that showed a large brain aneurysm. Transported to a larger hospital via ambulance and had coiling done two days later. Hope alll is well Michelle! Come on and talk to us under the General tab creating a new topic so we can offer you some support and answer any questions.

@Brooklynn92 is down in Texas. Brooklynn shares that last year she survived a brain aneurysm and even though she can walk and talk her whole life is different and there’s no one to talk to and no one understands her. We will Brooklynn, just start up a new topic under the General tab!

Ending the newest folks is @Ameena145 up in the Northeast of the USA. Ameena had a SAH back in May 2025. She’s had surgery for a shunt and says she’s on enough medications. After her 3 weeks in NSICU, she went into PT and ST for the remainder of the Summer. She’s realized she has to pay careful attention to her red flags. She learned to continue life with daily chronic pain and function normally. (Better than me it sounds lol). She shares that fortunately she is learning to savor the moments on her new healing journey. Good for you Ameena! Can’t wait to hear more of your story, head over to the General tab and start a new topic!

That’s it for this week, welcome to everyone! We are very glad you found us. I may be biased but I do think our members are great especially sharing experiences and what they’ve learned along the way. If anyone has problems navigating the site just send a pm to me (@Moltroub) or the kind folks @ModSupport and one of us will help out. Just remember to be patient we aren’t on all the time and we are in different time zones.

Remember to follow advice you learn here and please pay attention to your body so you know when to stop and not aggravate things making you slide back a few steps.
