Alton, NH – Do you love a great mystery? Do you think like Miss Marple or Jessica Fletcher? Perhaps more like Sherlock Holmes or Columbo? Test your mystery solving talents on Saturday, August 25, 2012 (rain date 9/26/2012) during the 1st annual Mystery Ride to benefit the Brain Aneurysm Foundation. Hop onto your motorcycle, jump into your classic car, or fire up the minivan! Riders, drivers and all-around sleuths will gather clues during a scenic 65 mile trip around beautiful Lake Winnipesaukee to solve the murder of Mr. Hugh Mann Body. All participants will start from the Alton, NH American Legion at 11:00 AM (registration starts at 10:00 AM). The Alton NH American Legion Riders (Chapter 8), a charitable Veterans organization, is sponsoring this event to raise awareness and funds for research of Brain Aneurysms.
A brain aneurysm is a weak bulge on the wall of an artery in the brain and can catastrophically rupture. According to the American Society of Interventional and Therapeutic Neuroradiology 1 in 15 people, in the United States, will develop a brain aneurysm during their lifetimes. Most will not rupture, but 30,000 people in the USA, most between the ages of 40 and 65, will suffer a rupture each year. That’s one aneurysm rupturing every 18 minutes! 50% of those who experience a rupture will die within 30 days, many instantly, and two thirds of the people who survive the rupture will have lasting disabilities. We want to help fund research to end the pain, suffering and loss caused by Brain Aneurysms!
All ages are welcome for a leisurely ride around the scenic Lake Winnipesaukee. Participants will follow a clue map to collect the clues (and a few red herrings), to solve the mystery. A Silent Auction and a 50/50 raffle will be held along the trip, and a cook-out will follow at the Alton, NH American Legion (donations accepted). All funds raised will be donated to the Brain Aneurysm Foundation for research into the genetic causes of brain aneurysms.

How much? $15.00 per vehicle, $5.00 per passenger (all funds raised will go to The Brain Aneurysm Foundation for research).
