I had a coiling procedure done in August of an unruptured aneurysm. In October, I had a Craniotomy resection done. My MRI of the Brain came out good, and shows that the vasculitis in my brain is subsiding. However, I am still getting the numbness on and off on the left side and headaches over my left eye and at times my right eye. Can it be from the healing (scar tissue possibly) from the rescection?

Hi Linda, I had my craniotomy clipping right side April last year and I had 50% of the feeling back in the top portion of that side of my head. I get an unusual cold/wet sensation every now and again but the surgeon did say it could take up to two years. I will be having my next clipping on the left side with the month.

I've had two clippings for two seperate aneurysms right and left side, one in 1998 and the other in 2010. The on and off numbness and tingling sensations is probably the body "doing its thing" in healing your scar (for whatever reason it took forever to get any feeling back on the left side when I had the clipping in 98, and my doc had told me I may never get any sensation back but now I've got lots) as for the right side clipping, it seems to me that I healed much faster with much more sensation, quicker. No eye pain or headaches though after either clipping. I bumped into something the other day (a power cord dangling from the ceiling,) and it brushed over the left side of my head, and I noticed that still, theres some numbness there after 15 years--but not total numbness like there had been. I'm happy to hear the Vasculitus is subsiding for you, stay strong, Its gonna take some time before your head feels "normal" to you so hang in there Linda! Janet
