Is coloring your hair or getting highlights dangerous when you have two Aneurysms?

I wanted to know if its ok to color my hair and get highlights to retouch my hair. I have not had the surgery yet, but I will undergo on the procedures next week and I want to do something so I can be relaxed. I don't think it will hurt the aneurism but I want to make sure, I'm worried and confused.I know this might sound silly but with the chemicals in hair coloring I just want to make sure that nothing would affect anything internally as far as blood pressure and the brain. If anybody has some helpful information about this please reply.

I'm with Colleen on this. I waited 6 months to highlight my hair. Until I had the ruptured aneurysm I was on a regular schedule to have highlights. My hair seemed thinner and was falling out. I started taking some b vitamins and using frustis fall shampoo. That seemed to help a lot. At the 6 mo mark I was I the chair and ready to go. I had the coiling procedure and they went thru the femoral artery. I also had a shunt installed so they had shaved the top of my head and there were some staples to deal with. Check w/ your dr.if in doubt. Wishing you the very best. * myra

Do it before, it will be a while for the stitches or staples to heal. I just got my staples out 2 weeks and 2 days after surgery! Good luck! Regina

Hi and this is a good question...after my coiling I waited to have my hair cut and/or dyed for 6 months...it seemed that my hair at thinned from everything and truthfully, I wasn't ready for anyone to touch my head until 6 months...it is now 2 years...and I have my hair cut and dyed regularly...and good to go...~ wish you luck...~ Colleen

I have already had my surgery, actually 5 sugeries, and my neuro said I could color my hair 4 weeks after my last surgery. :)  I was the happiest girl in the world!!  As long as I went to someone that would be gentle around my scar.  You should be fine but always check with your Dr.  :)

I have read a lot and have seen they've had a lot of good results on the pipeline, its still pretty new though

I think they do the pipeline the same way the do the coiling. You should be fine to color your hair. . They go through the groin on both. I'm kind of new to all of this. You'll get better answers on the pipeline in the pipeline forum there's a lot on in in there.
