Follow up

Follow-up 7 months later…..I recovered great after my first clipping. 2 week post-surgery I had a bleed. The ER team was great and called Mayo where I had been treated and was then transferred back to Rochester. That pretty much is my last memory for the next 30-35 days. During that time I had another clipping, a coiling and shunt. Feel very fortunate that I had an amazing team on my side, my husband, BFF’s, parents, co-workers and the great medical staff.

Life is different and I’m learning to live it. Struggle with short term memory, confidence, speech problems and my sense of time is off (hard to explain).

Happily I am working full time and volunteering at the local animal shelter, important things to me. Oh and so happy I’m here!

Comment by Myra on March 20, 2013 at 6:17pm: You are so right about life being different. I had a ruptured Annie on February 9,2012. They also found an unruptured one. Both were coiled. 38 days in the hospital (20i have no memory of), pneumonia, urinary tract infection & a slight heart attack 4 eye surgeries later I too am back working full time. I still have some memory issues and sometimes words don't come to me as quickly as I think they should. From what I understand I was very close to dying so if I forget a word here and there I'll take it. I am just excited to be here.wishing you the very best in your recovery. Working with the animals is probably good therapy,too.
